Organization's Mission/Description

Custodial Trainee Program

Train for a career in Custodial Services while also attending paid classes to obtain a Custodial/Building Maintenance certificate.  Candidates between ages 21-27 are encouraged to apply for this internship that pays $20.41/hour for 32 hours per week for ten months.

The primary goal of Career Connect: Custodial Trainee Program is to help young people qualify for and obtain positions in the City and County of San Francisco’s (CCSF) 2708 Custodial Series.

Employment Track

Increase your ability to obtain and retain a job.  Candidates between ages 18-25 are encouraged to apply for this internship opportunity to gain on-the-job training.  Interns are paid $20.41/hour and work up to 35 hours per week for eight months in one of the many Airport Commission office.  Duties primarily include assisting with administrative or clerical tasks, but there are also positions that involve hands-on work experience and customer service.

High School Students

SFO Summer High School Interns Program

A part-time summer internship for students looking to gain valuable work experience and career exposure at the airport.  Interns usually provide office support or customer service.  The application deadline in 3/13/2019.

S.F. Project Pull

A summer internship in a City department, including SFO.  If you are interested in a position at the Airport, please indicate “SFO” on the application.  Visit Project Pull for more information and application deadlines.

YouthWorks

A paid internship for 11th and 12th grade residents of San Francisco with an interest in public service.  SFO hosts YouthWorks interns year-round.  If you are interested in a position at the Airport, please indicate “Airport – SFO”.  When open, applications are available on YouthWorks.

 

College Students

Summer College Internship Program

A paid full-time summer internship for undergraduate and graduate students of all majors looking to gain valuable work experience and career exposure at the airport.  Recruitment for summer 2020 will start in winter 2019.

Student Design Trainee Program

A paid full-time summer college internship for STEM students and Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Computer Science/Information Services majors.  Recruitment for summer 2020 will start in winter 2019.

 

Post Graduates

SFO Fellowship Program

A one-year, full-time, paid fellowship program to gain comprehensive exposure to airport managers in the airport and aviation industry.  The program is designed for individuals who have received their master’s degree within 3 years of when applications are being accepted for the program.  Applications will be available early 2019.

Airfield Operations Trainee Program

This program is for applicants who have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; OR a current college student (senior status) and will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university at time of appointment; OR possess an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university AND one (1) year of safety or security operations experience at an airport, airbase, airline, or military base.  View the 2019 Airfield Operations Trainee program for more information and to apply.  The application deadline is 2/15/2019.

SF Fellows Program
